two free sessions next week: cold-email engine + AI visibility audit
Plus three new reads on why ChatGPT and Claude share only 1 in 8 sources.

Happy Thursday!
Two free sessions on the calendar for next week, and we published a new article today that I think changes how a lot of teams think about AI search. A good week on both fronts โ let's get into it.

Cold email reply rates have fallen to 3.4% because inboxes are drowning in AI mail merges that swap in a name and a company and call it personalization. Signal-led emails โ ones that read a real event about the prospect, infer the pain it points to, and write a line only that person could receive โ still reply at 11%. This session is a live Claude Code build of that engine from scratch: a sources file, a rules file that kills the AI tells, and a system you can point at your own prospect list the same day.

Almost no company has checked what AI says about them โ even though buyers ask it every day before they ever visit a website. In this session you run a live audit on your own company in about 20 minutes: whether AI names you, whether it gets the facts right, and where it's pulling the answer from. You leave with a simple scorecard and the one gap to fix first.

Three pieces on the same question: how do you show up when your buyers are researching in AI โ and what actually earns the citation?
Dropped this one today. OtterlyAI analyzed 379,321 Claude citations across 16,406 domains in June 2026 and found that only 13% of domains cited by Claude are also cited by ChatGPT โ at the URL level, that overlap drops to 4.2%. Claude cited Reddit zero times across the entire dataset. ChatGPT still leans on it heavily. The article breaks down what each engine actually rewards and how to rank for both without running two separate content programs.
Claude referral traffic grew 386% between January and April 2026 โ while ChatGPT's grew 1.53% over the same window. The channel skews professional: 35% of Claude conversations come from computer and mathematical occupations (Source: Anthropic), which means the clicks arrive pre-qualified. This piece covers which content formats collect the most of that traffic and why comparison and best-of pages are the single highest-ROI format to build right now.
Most teams treat AI search like a brand awareness play. This workshop breakdown shows the three-play system that turns it into a measurable pipeline channel: map the full-sentence queries your buyers actually ask, earn mentions on the third-party pages AI reads first, and track share of voice as a channel metric. Rise, a global payroll platform, used this system to generate 9,000 AI-driven sessions per month and $8 million in attributed pipeline over 12 months.
Latest video: Build an autonomous competitor-research agent in Claude Code

In Monday's session, I built an autonomous competitor-research agent live in Claude Code. The starting point is a sources file pointing the agent at competitor pricing pages, product docs, careers pages, and review sites. From there, it generates a structured competitive brief that flags what changed week over week, cites every claim back to its source, and calls out anything that needs human review. The agent runs automatically every Monday and fires a Slack notification when the report is ready. If your team still handles competitive analysis manually, this one is worth watching end to end.

That's all for this week. Two sessions to register for: Tuesday's Claude Code build is the hands-on one, Thursday's AI audit is the fastest way to see where you actually stand in AI search right now. Both are free. Hit reply if you have questions. I read every one.
